Thiru is the Founder and CEO of Emergent, a strategic consulting, business solutions and investment firm established in 2020. He is an entrepreneur, innovator and leader who believes in making an impact on the world’s most important issues. He has served in senior executive roles at the global level as well as on Boards as Advisor and Director.

Prior to Emergent, he was a Partner and Senior Leader at Deloitte for almost 19 years and fulfilled a number of leadership roles in the Africa and global firm. These included EMEA Marketplace Leader for Deloitte Consulting, Member of the Global Consulting Executive, CEO of Deloitte Consulting for Deloitte Africa, Executive Leader for Corporate Finance, Chief Innovation Officer for Global Consulting and Strategy & Innovation Leader.

In 2019, he was recognised as the Big 4 Professional of the Year by the South African Professional Services Association.

Thiru has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and has also completed the Certificate Programme in Finance and Accounting at the Wits Business School. He is currently completing the Venture Capital and Private Equity Programme at Columbia Business School in New York.
